BLACK JACK WITH BERTAND GATIGNOL & ELSA BRANTS

Writer ELSA BRANTS (Save Me, Pythia) teams up with Magnetic Press alumni, BERTRAND GATIGNOL (The Ogre Gods Saga, Pistouvi), on an original Black Jack short story in TEZUCOMI, an all-star celebration of Osamu Tezuka’s most beloved characters by some of Europe’s best comic creators.

The enigmatic character of Black Jack, created by Osamu Tezuka, is a cryptic yet brilliant surgeon practicing on the fringes of modern medicine. His presence is striking, marked by a scared face and a shock of white hair. He tackles what seem to be insurmountable cases, navigating a delicate balance between medical expertise and moral quandaries. Humans are complex things, after all.

BLACK JACK, BY BERTAND GATIGNOL

Bertrand’s graceful line work is on full display drawing this tale about a performance artist in need of dire help. His years of experience designing characters for animation brings a clean, anime style these grim characters. Likewise, Elsa Brants’s script is a nice contrast to her other story in this anthology (based on PRINCESS KNIGHT, a light-hearted fantasy tale with talking crows and dragons).
